If your baby is blind or has vision problems?

We didn't figure out that my first dd has visual problems until she was 3 (almost 4) but they started around that time. We took my 2nd child to the ophthalmologist at 1 year to have her checked. I'm not sure how you could tell in a brand new baby though.
