Hi. My name is Sherry and I am new to this board. I joined here a few days ago but my son qualifies for a few of these boards so it is taking me awhile to make my rounds, lol.

My son Michael was born at 24 weeks. When he was born, it was discovered that he had ROP (Retinopathy of Prematurity). He has had 2 eye surgeries in each eye during his first 4 months of life. He is now considered legally blind in both eyes but he can see some. Not too well though. He does wear glasses however the doctor changed his prescription this year and now he doesn't want to wear them so he just wears them now at school.

He just started learning basic Braile last year and caught on pretty fast.
