Hello, My name is Renee, Im married to Kevin and Mom to Ryan 18, Beckah 15, Robbie 13, Raelynn 10 and Daniel 6.
Daniel is legally blind, he has miropthalmia, optic nerve colobomas and a detached retina due to the colobomas in his left eye.

We have known of his diagnosis since birth. We went to an awesome school from infant-preschool called the anchor center for blind children, in Denver. He spent one year in public school kindergarten and now we are doing online learning at home. I am his learning coach, he has a primary teacher, a special ed teacher, and a vision teacher, he also has a physical therapist and an O&M specialist. His vision teacher comes to our home as well as his O&M teacher, the rest we confrence on the phone.

Robbie my other son, although not vision impaired is a special needs kid.

I would love to offer support and encouragement, and receive the same. I am looking forward to getting to know you all!!

Hello Renee! I only stop in here on occasion. I'm sorry to hear about all the issues your son has. It sounds like you have a good support system for him though. We aren't quite sure what my daughter has. She sees top specialists at an eye hospital and a children's hospital but no one can figure it out so we don't know what her long term prognosis is.
