If there is one thing that you feel you really need to become MORE thrifty about... what is it?

I need to get a little more thrifty on our internet. I thought I had myself talked into the 19.99 road runner light, but then I changed my mind. I really would like saving that 25.00 a month, though. I do fine (I think) on my groceries and stuff... I just need help getting that stupid cable bill under control.

What about you? Anything you are trying to get more thrifty on?

Eating out. We spend way more than we should be spending on fast food. I could make something at home for a third of the money and it would be more filling. But sometimes I'm not in the mood to cook and we take the easy way out. I need to stop it.

We are, well I guess I should say I am, working hard on not eating lunches out. I used to justify it by saying its only a couple bucks a day, but when we are living on such little, its an expense we cant afford, so I have been bringing things to work more often

I also need to work on eating out, that has killed our budget more times than I can count.

Going out to eat, and other little luxeries.

I USED to spend probably 300-500 a mo. going out to eat and other things, and that was just for me and my boys. DH really didn't go most of the time, it was just us during the day. I have cut down on that, and from now on when we go, I will almost always use coupons.

Also, I have needed to cut down on my bath product luxuries. I have cut down a lot, and I will continue to do so.

Jewelry for yourself, or for a friend. Breastfeeding aides, beautiful bracelets, earings and more.

I'm also having an eating out problem. DH is always hungry after physical therapy, so if I'm not with him he and Adam stop for drive thru fast food. Add to that my total disinterest in cooking ever again, and we're having a wee bit of a problem.
Definition (Webster's 2006) of "MandiK":
A 20something, graduate student, college prof, tree hugging, time managing, coupon addicted, cosmetic selling, dirt worshipping, girl who is in love with Ben and welcomed Sofie Grace on 1/31/11.
