Stupid. If you want a litterbox get a cat or a bunny, if you want a dog get a dog and dog's go to the bathroom outside.

I guess MAYBE some smaller dogs would like that (ones who don't like to go outside to use the bathroom) but I'd personally never.

Maybe it would be good if you live in an apartment but I have always just set my schedule up so I can let the dog out.

My dog has played in an unused litter box (with clean litter) and even peed in it but I'm not sure she'd use it regularly. It's just not their instinct like it is for a cat.

A small dog, sure.
I can't imagine my 65 lb. pit bull using a litter box, I also don't want to know how horrible it would make our apartment smell.
