As an effort to inform regulars, newbies, and lurkers alike on the ingredient content of formula, a vitamin/mineral that is found in infant formula will be highlighted everyday!

Today is Biotin:


What Does It Do?
  • Helps metabolize protein, fat and carbohydrates
  • Helps produce energy in the body's cells
How Much Do They Need?

Infants 0-6 months 5 mcg per dayInfants 7-12 months 6 mcg per dayToddlers 1-3 yrs 8 mcg per day

Where Can They Get It?

  • Breast milk or Iron-fortified formula
  • Iron-fortified formula
  • Eggs
  • Milk products
  • Whole-grain cereals
  • Legumes
  • Broccoli
  • White and sweet potatoes
  • Lean beef

What a great idea!!

I have ventured into the back of a formula can and feel like I'm readying Greek. This should be very interesting!
