I love playtex drop ins. I only have 2 "bottles" since I just change the liner and either wash the nipple quick or pop in a clean one each feeding, it's so much easier than scrubbing bottles all the time. As for other bottles, I'd probably say to have between 5-10 bottles. If you don't like washing bottles all the time, then go for more, but who really has storage for 20 bottles, KWIM? Just skip the little 4oz bottles and go straight to the bigger ones. IMO they are a waste, just make the smaller formula amounts in the bigger ones and then once they are eating more you won't have to go buy bigger bottles.

I use Dr. Brown's bottles. They are GREAT! The help a ton with gas, spit up, etc. as the air flow is really good.

I have nine. Eight would do, but they came in three packs, so I bought three boxes of three. I would say at least 8 to get through those newborn growth spurts. Then you won't be washing bottles every time you turn around. I always had enough to put them in the dishwasher each night, then make up the next days bottles and pop them in the fridge before I went to bed.

I use the VentAire Advance bottles and love them. I have drop-ins as a backup, but it's easy to pop the liner in the middle of the night and being covered in formula at 2am is not fun. I have 10 bottles. Two 4oz, one 5oz, four 6oz, and three 10oz. A bottle for all occasions.
~Thanks Babydoll213 for my awesome siggie!~
