Since I started my baby on formula full time, she's been sleeping much better and longer. She sleeps for about 3hrs when I wake her up to feed her again. On average though, she will sleep past 3hrs, and will sleep for about 4hrs. So I don't know if I can just let her sleep past the 3hrs and let her wake up on her own to tell me she wants to feed again. She is 2wks old as of today.

Hi! I have a 9-week-old, my third child, and I say let her sleep! Enjoy the rest.

The only reason I would wake up a sleeping baby is if she were underweight or not thriving. But for a healthy baby who's consistently gaining weight, let her sleep! My 9-week-old sleeps in random stretches between 3 to 7 hours at night, and he's 14.5 pounds, so I don't think its bothering his growth, lol.
Hi, I'm Sara. I used to post here a lot when I was having the kids, but life got busy and it's been years since I was around. Now I'm back, and happy to be here.

I agree. I formula fed my son and just let him tell me when he wanted a feed. Most days he had 4-5 feeds. As long as your baby is putting on weight well and is alert and healthy there's no need to wake her up.

I think for 2 weeks old, they should be feeding every 2-3 hours in the day, but if they can go longer at night then that's ok. The hospital told me to wake my daughter to feed every 2-3 hours in the day, but only after 4 hours at night.

He's eating 6oz with rice every 3-4hours. In the morning he has fruit with a 4oz bottle. Same at night. Then he sleeps 7-9 hours a night without a peep. Sometime's if his really hungry he has ate 8oz AND solids..lol.
