What advice do you have for other mommies that have chosen to bottle feed or are still undecided?

My advice is...

Better to be a happy formula feeding mommy than a sad, crying, and/or stressed breastfeeding mommy (yes, I know I say that all the time but it is true!)

Don't worry about what others will think...you are doing what you feel is best for you and your baby.

I'm sure I'll come up with more later my brain isn't functioning yet today.

DON'T read "reviews" on what someone else thinks about a bottle. EVERY baby is different. The 5 star bottle might be worth a crap for your baby. The 2 star one may work better.

Buy 1 bottle at a time. Don't waste your $$$ on 7 different ones. Start with the cheapest and move your way up 'til you find the bottle you think works for your baby.

I guess that is my advice.

don't fall in to the trap of thinking only formula comes in a bottle. If you like the benefits of breastmilk but have other issues with it you can certainly put BM in a bottle! I did for 6 mos with my 1st and 2.5 mos with this one.

ITA!!!!! I wanted to breastfeed and put so much stress on myself and my baby for it. I tried for 2 weeks. At first he was not latching on and just didn't want to do it, then once he caught on, I had nothin gfor him. My milk never came in. I still went for a couple days thinking, if I keep feeding him my supply will come, but it never did. As soon as we'd finish feeding, he'd want to eat again in no more than an hour because he just didn't get anything. Feeding time was not a happy time...I didn't look forward to it and I was super stressed, and so was Jackson.

Switching to formula was really hard on me at first, but now I know my baby is eating and we can both be relaxed and happy.

I've got two. For those who tried to BF first, don't beat yourself up!! I felt awful at first, but then I saw how much happier Eric was - he had a horrible time trying to get milk from the source, he always cried at the breast, it broke my heart. So I started pumping and bottle feeding, then went to formula, and I had this smiling little boy I'd never seen before!

Also ... have LOTS of bottles. We thought we would buy the minimum and just coast at first. Man, was that a bad idea, we were washing bottles constantly
