This got some laughs today, so I figured I would share...

We're sitting down to lunch in a restaurant, myself, DH, a friend of ours, and her almost 4 year old son (and Eric, of course). As the waitress comes up to take our orders, Eric starts to cry - he has this perfect sense of timing when it comes to telling us he's hungry. Being the multitasking mommy I am, I pull out a bottle and the water bottle I carry in my diaper bag while ordering. In goes the water, in goes the powder, I pop on the top and start to shake.

Unfortunately, I wasn't paying attention and the nipple wasn't totally on. I shake back and forth, so luckily it was on a back stroke and it all landed on me and not everyone else...but still...I was COVERED in formula. I had to start laughing because otherwise I would have been so embarrassed I would have crawled under the table and died.

Anyone else have some good stories of bottle feeding mishaps, or am I the only lucky one?

One morning at about 4am I was getting Lucas a bottle. I use the playtex drop ins. I get the bottle put the liner in the bottle fill it up add my powder and start shaking. Well I couldn't figure out why the formula was going all over the floor. I checked the lid and it was on tight. There was a hole in the liner.
It was the beginning to one of those days you just wanna go back to bed and try again tomorrow.

Too funny!!

I once got up to make a bottle in the middle of the night and just set the top on it...didn't screw it on. I then tipped it over and got formula all over my p.j.'s!!! LOL

We use those too!!!!!!!! I love your post, too funny.

One night I was going to make him a bottle and he fell asleep so I put the liner back in the box. I thought the liner was still in the bottle cause all the pieces were where I left them. I went to bed and woke up to a hungry baby. I went to the kitchen put 3 scoops in the "invisible liner" and continued to pour 6oz of water in the bottle sitting on the counter. Next thing, I hear a drip and it is all over the floor!!! (I use the light above the stove and it isn't very bright). As I cleaned it up, DH was wondering what was taking so long. He ended up making the bottle while I cleaned the floor.
