My son is now 12 months and we have switched him to whole milk. His dr said 12 months is a good cut off.

I get formula from WIC and when that runs out or he turns 12 months (whichever comes first) is when we are making the switch.

I switched my son at 11 months because he was huge and I ran out of formula. I kept my oldest on formula until 14 mos when she gave up her bottle because I was a nervous new mommy.

Sadie will be on formula for a year.

With dd#1 I started to introduce milk at 1 year. I did it slowly over about 1 month...replacing 1 bottle a day for the first week...2 bottles for the 2nd week...3 bottles for the 3rd week. I thin it is easier on their systems to switch slowly.

I switched Cohen around 13 months. In the states they reccommend waiting till atleast 12 months, in Canada atleast 9 months. I waited longer than my country's reccomendation because he wasnt eating a lot and I wanted to make sure he was getting all the nutrition he needed. I dont think there is any rush to switch them, but I was personally anxious to get him off the bottle and I didnt want to put formula in his sippys because I found it too hard to get it really clean. It definitely saves money now that he is on whole milk though.
