For me, cold cabbage leaves help ease the pain. Just replace them under a sports bra every 45 minutes or so.

Ahhhh Well, my boobs finally stopped hurting! Like everybody said, the first 24-36 hours were the WORST! I just kept a sports bra on constantly and put ice packs on my boobs while watching tv or something. I wasn't able to do the cabbage leaves because I was also healing my cracked and bleeding nipples from BFing. So I had to keep bra pads and Lansinoh cream on all the time. My boobs are still pretty hard, but they don't hurt. I can finally put my baby boy on my shoulder to burp him again! And my nipples are almost healed! WHEW! I'm glad that's over!

I just weaned my baby and I also had some pain, but nothing like that.

I'm in the same boat. It's been 48ish hours now since I decided to stop pumping and I'm still leaking pretty well, but the pain has gone down considerably since yesterday. I DO still feel like a porn star though - my boobs are still rock hard - and they're 46 Ds to begin with! Yeeha! LOL

The rock hard feeling went away by about a week after I stopped. And the leaking stopped about that time too. The pain was unbearable for the first 36 hours, and it got increasingly better after that. I'm so glad that is over! (Although, I still wish I was able to BF )

I hear you there. I had really wanted to BF for atleast 6 months. It didn't work out. I had a lot of guilt the past few days but today I'm really glad that I'm stopping. It's SO much less stressfull to bottle feed and I know that I did a lot of good in BF for 7 weeks. Jake will be just fine. I was FF and turned out AWESOME! (kidding)

I already feel so much less stress and I know that that is the really important thing! Just think - Blake has all kinds of extra time with you now and they won't get in the way with all the bootie making!

LoL! Yes that is true. Especially now that he is sleeping in his crib and not right next to our bed, me and DH can finally have some "adult" time I am a lot less stressed with FF. I just wish that I could have BF without any problems and been happy while doing so. I have less guilt than I did before (the day I decided to stop, I couldn't stop crying all day) I do still have some. Everytime I see or hear of somebody BFing, I get so jealous.
