What is the difference between 1st and 2nd foods. We are on 1st foods, but we HAVE to thicken them with rice cereal because the thin consistency makes it too difficult to eat for my guy. He will close his mouth and it will squirt out the sides of his mouth. He likes it thicker and will eat more eagerly.

There is actually no difference. Some of the 2nds foods are a little thicker..but not many of them. For the most part they are about the same consistency..just bigger jars. I mix cereal with stage 2's when I give them to Xan.

I switched to stage 2's after we tried all the single ingredients of the stage 1's
