last question I promise.. lol

so my ds has sever allergies.. dairy, egg and fish

so with my dd.. is it really necessary to wait till she is 6 mos to start solids.. or can I start cereal around 5.. and fruits and veggies shortly after.. can rice cereal really bring on allergies..

Personally, I would wait. I think the risk of allergies outweighs any benefit of starting food early.

If food allergies run in the family, its best to wait until they are six months old . If your dd is on regular formula, something like nutramigen or breastfed I would try the organic rice cereal first. Regular rice cereal has soy in it and it can cause a reaction. If you give veggies, avoid legumes (foods in the bean and pea family). If you give fruits give the non-citrus fruits first. Meat and protein foods can be added once your child is 8-9 months old.
