Or maybe the fear that something is wrong? Whenever i cry for some reason and my daughter sees it she starts crying also and falls over me and hugs me. Also when my DH takes a playful 'bite' out of my leg and Stephie is there IF i grunt because of it she also starts to whine and again falls on me and cries. I cannot understand it seems like she is saying 'leave my mom alone' but i rather thought empathy happens a LOT later than 9 months. Maybe it's her fear that something is wrong?

What do you gals think?

Edited to say that i found this ""To become truly empathic," Gopnik says, "you have to say not just 'I feel your pain,' but 'I feel your pain, and I know it's not my own. I should be helping you, not myself.'"

It's not real empathy she is having. It's the fact that she recognizes bad feelings from me and it makes her feel bad herself, what i said before about probably being afraid because she can't understand what is wrong and how bad it is. But it is nice non the less.......being hugged that way kwim? Wishful thinking.......mommy wishful thinking oh well ......it is the first step to empathy though as the article continued to say.....

" \m/ Now Iím riding through the air
going to where no one dares
on the way Iíll cross the line forevermore \m/ "

awww....how sweet...my little one either just stares in disbelief when daddy does silly things to "get me"....or laughs uncontrollably. But a couple of my olders when they were little would get REALLY upset when we wrestled and played....It's so sweet when that "I'm scared and worried WITH you" turns to "I'm worried FOR you, let me hug you" type of action.....
Momma to Emma, Elzie, Gretchen, Olive, and Rogan

We aren't to give a baby milk, berries, or peanut butter. We are to introduce new foods one at a time. But it's OK to inject several viruses, bacteria, aluminum, formaldehyde, phenoxyethanol, animal serum, mercury, squalene and more into an 8 week old? I don't think so.
In order to be healthy it is an unfortunate fact that people must be allowed the opportunity to be ill. I trust my body and those of my children to work correctly against the relatively benign diseases they vax for, and do not trust the ingredients in the vaccinations.
Our choice to not vax isn't based in ignorance, poverty, conspiracy theory and rumor. It's research, common sense, fact and evidence based..something the medical community has largely forgot about.
