Just random thread idea I got from the 'before he cheats' thread..

Have you met any famous people and how? Who if you can say?

I used to work on the private/corporate side of Raleigh/Durham Intl' Airport in NC. I was a corporate concierge-basically a gopher for any and everything passengers needed. I met a ton of famous people while working there. The first person I met was Michael Jordan. I was sooo nervous and excited!! But after awhile, you don't get like that. They're just normal people who don't deserve special treatment.

Here's a few I've met--
Michael Jordan-I drove his rental car even, hehe LOL
Katie Couric
Bill Gate's wife
Seen Ozzy Osbourne, didn't meet him
tons of pro athletes and whole teams when we did charter planes
seen the president, the other bush and bill clinton
Bill Cosby---I SO LOVE THIS GUY!! He was sooo down to earth! As he stepped off the plane, he joked with us. He's great!
Magic Johnson
Dave Matthews--I totally love this guy too! He went out of his way just to be friendly.
Coach K-Duke's bball coach, I love this guy!
just barely missed Britney Spears
The band Boston
Jimmy Buffett---nothing nice to say here
band Creed
The Extreme Home makeover crew(some) and a family!! That was really cool.

Tons more I can't remember.

But I have to say out of everyone I ever met---Dave Matthews and Bill Cosby take the cake as the friendliest, most down to earth stars out there. They both took the time to chat with us like we weren't peons. Great people.

I've really met too many to count. I used to be "starstruck" but now it's not that big of a deal.[/b]

Who and how come?? Just curious....
I haven't met anybody famous. I'd definitely be a silent starer. It would strike me as really surreal.

I haven't met many famous people. The ones I have met are mainly political, so that's not very interesting to a lot of people. I have met President and Mrs Bush and VP and Mrs Cheney on separate occasions. I've met tons of other Senators and members of Congress and I've been in the same room as Bill and Hillary Clinton, but didn't get to talk to them or shake their hands or anything.

I did once ride on an airplane across the isle from Mike Tyson. He chatted with me and actually seemed friendly, but that was before the face tattoo.

At the Sundance Film Festival, I was in the bathroom with Rebecca Romijn Stamos and when I left, John Stamos was waiting outside for her. (This was when they were married - he was wearing high heeled boots!) Also at SFF I saw Steven Baldwin smoking outside of a restaraunt when we were going in.

I also was on the ski slopes a few times when Robert Redford was skiing and saw him there.

I love Dave Matthews. I am so jealous now. I seriously have all the Dave Matthews band CDs. And I have seen him in concert, but never met him. I am hoping to see him at the gorge some time when Owen gets older. I also dated a guy who met Dave and had lunch with him. He too agreed that he was just the nicest guy.

I have met some famous people but most of them were in sports and I really could give a rip about stuff like that unless of course, it was Lance Armstrong

I've met a bunch of the NY Rangers (ice hockey) which is actually kind of odd, because I'm a Devils fan

Other than that...not that I can recall. I lived in California, and Arnold was the governor...does that count?

Oh oh oh, and I shook the hand that shook the hand that shook the hand (xs 100) of Kurt Cobain. Anyone except me and my lame friends play that game? lol
I predict a riot.

Add Tim McGraw to my list. He is seriously one of the only moments my knees have felt like jello. It was crazy. He is soo good looking in person.

I didn't really like his music before I met him, but I listen sometimes now. He is just the absolute nicest person ever!! I even wrote a letter to them on his fan site once telling him I appreciate how down to earth he is. Most of the VIPS were just courteous to us, but he walked out of his way to have an entire conversation with me! He's just such a nice guy.

There's one famous person that I know personally. Betty Mahmoody, the author of the book "Not Without My Daughter", is the mom of my brother's best friend from high school back in Michigan. After her story became known, one of those news shows (20/20 or 60 Minutes) did an interview with her son and they filmed it from the football field of my school. The family doctor I went to growing up is mentioned in the book. As well as Carson City where some of my family lives now. I believe they mention my hometown of Ashley too.

1. Magic Johnson-- we went to his aunt's house for some sort of a reception right before he turned pro. I remember chasing around a little boy trying to get a kiss. My sister said the food sucked.

2. Chris Wilson-- if you know nothing about the band Good Charlotte, you won't know who he is. He used to be their drummer. I hung out with him for about 30 minutes while he waited for his ride to the airport outside the Palms Casino in Las Vegas. OMG, he is soooo wonderful. One of the nicest guys I've ever met.

3. I saw a couple different people while in Vegas-- Dennis Rodman, John Salley-- both ex-Detroit Pistons; and one of guys from N' Sync.

4. I see alot of people while in airports or on planes. I saw Ace from The Real World Paris in Chicago. We were both flying to Lansing on my way back from Vegas, but the flight was cancelled. His girlfriend, Mallory, also from TRW Paris was waiting for him in Lansing the next day. I also sat next to Jamie from TRW San Diego on my way to El Paso. I have no idea why I attract MTV people.

This is one of DH's: I don't know if you've heard of him but there's a Yankee named Thomas Gordon. He's a pitcher. DH went to high school with him and has even played baseball with him. His family still lives here in Avon Park.

Okay, I almost just want to say no one, but woohooo I graduated from the same high school as Billy Bob Thorton, doesn't that make me special. I really did think there was someone else, but I can't remember now, must not have been that great of a person.

OOOh, i forgot, Jody Evans, most of you don't know who he is I am sure, but he was on a show called Nashville Star, I think he got second place can't remember now. Anyway, my best friends husband has a band and they were playing at a club, and he was there. He was so nice, and so dang goofy looking. LOL I don't know so much that he is famous, but he has wrote some song for some famous people. My best friends husbands band may make it one of these day's, and if they do I will know several famous people, LOL that is my only hope to knowing so many famous people I can't count.

Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake back when I was like 14 or 15.

Mel Gibson a few times because our family friend is his cousin, last time I saw him was right after I had Andrew.

Never met Princess Diana but a guy my dad was friends with for many years wife was like her 6th cousin.

Opps forgot about the guys of Greenday, they were doing a concert in downtown at the time I was visiting my grandma a few years back and they were entering the arena , me and my friend did not talk to them or anything but we did get to see them and same goes for a few WWE stars but at that time I was living with my grandma.

My dad has met many famous people such as Reba Mcentire, Dolly Parton, The Rock, that one guy from WWE , I forgot his name but I think it is Chris and he was good friends with Eddie, he goes by woulverine or something like that. My dad also got to get close up with the backstreet boys when we went to there concert, he was outside waiting for us and BSB came out and walked right by him , there are others but I do not remember who they are.

Dan Lauria (the dad from The Wonder Years) and Ralph Macchio (the Karate Kid) live near me so I see them out and about pretty often. Oh, and I used to work in The Hamptons during the summers when I was in school, and the place was swarming with celebrities. The only ones I actually met and spoke with were Russell and Kimora Simmons, Barbara Eden, RICHARD GERE!!!, Susan Lucci, and George Lucas (but I didn't know who he was at the time )

My brother was good friends with Bryan Singer, the director of The Usual Suspects, Apt Pupil, the first two X-Men movies and Superman Returns (among other things). In '94, my mom and I were in CA, visiting my brother, and we all went and had lunch with Bryan. At the time, he was trying to buy the rights for Apt Pupil, which is a Stephen King short story, and he just casually said something about how he had been on the phone with Stephen all morning, talking about the rights to the story. I was like !

Also, my best friend is married to Stephen Egerton, who is the lead guitarist for a band called Descendents (and ALL, as well) which I guess is pretty famous if you know punk music. So we've spent a ton of time with them and our kids play together and stuff. But I don't know if he counts because he doesn't seem famous to ME! He's just Uncle Stephen! (Not to me, to my kids...)
