I said drapes, but I hate the heavy and ornate kind. I guess when I think of blinds I'm reminded of those ugly horizontal metal mini-blinds or the long blinds that people use on their patio doors.

I like bambo blinds and california shutters though. So I'm not anti blinds and they have their place. I guess I just like things to look more natural and organic and like natural materials. I also like natural light and when I use drapes I tend to use a sheer and then have curtains over top that can open up. Then again, I tend to decorate with minimal clutter and clean lines.
Thank you Claire1977 for my adorable siggy

I voted drapes. I prefer curains over the window, although we also have pull down shades underneath the curtains. We have verticle blinds over the large living room window, and they will be replace with some sheer panels and drapes as soon as possible! Blinds are too institutional for me, and they remind me of all the crappy apartments we've rented.

I chose "other." We have 2-inch faux wood blinds AND drapes on every window. So, BOTH!

On nearly all of our windows, we have blinds in the window, sheers (mostly white, tho the LR ones are brown and green) on the outside of the window. I like it, because you can pull the blinds all the way up so the window is fully open, but still not really be able to see inside our house; or you can leave the blinds open but down, and push the sheers to the side; and a million other combos lol

ETA: As you can see in my siggy picture lol Those are the brown LR sheers, and you can see the blinds behind them.
I predict a riot.
