Do you use vitamins &/or supplements? How about for your kids?

I usually only take vitamins when I am TTC or am pregnant. I like to get most of my nutrition from the foods I eat. I don't know....maybe I don't get all the ones I need though. It just seems like I know other people who seem to take supplements almost obsessively and I'm not comfortable with that for myself. My daughter also takes a daily vitamin that is combined with fluoride because we don't have fluoridated water here and I want her to have healthy teeth. I'm interested to see what other opinions on this topic are.

I take a prenatal vitamin every day since we're not too hardcore strict about preventing a pregnancy (don't intend on getting pregnant right now but don't use any form of hormonal BC so always have it in my mind that I MIGHT get pregnant)....and I guess you're supposed to be taking your folic acid in the earliest stages of pregnancy...so just in case of that....plus I know I could eat BETTER but honestly don't always, so I like knowing I took my vitamin in the am...I'll probably always try to take a multivitamin for that reason alone....also considering the high risk I'm at for osteoporosis later in life I want to make sure I'm getting my calcium and vitamin D....I heard Dr. Oz say on Oprah the other day (haha) that unless you eat a LOT of leafy green vegetables than a multivitamin is probably a good idea. I eat my veggies but could definitely do better...so my vitamin is my security blanket.
Anyways my kids are 15 months and a month away from 3, and I don't give them multivitamins...I make sure they eat really healthy and basically hope they're getting what they need from that....I might give them a multivitamin a day when they're a little older and pick and choose what they eat a little more, but I just don't feel the need to right now.

I still use prenatal vitamins...I just like having a solid nutritional blanket because I dont always eat good.

I also take iron pills when I'm on my period.

I take my prenatal vit as I am still nursing and mine are full of probiotics and other good stuff. I also take Udo's oil to get my omega 3's and other fatty acids. On top of all that I try and eat as healthy as possible. **Personally*** I feel depleted when I forget to take them.

I take a multi-vitamin and sublingual B12 supplement. I'm vegan and although my multi-vitamin basically covers my B12, I'm trying to get my stores up (your body stores B12 for months and months). Plus, since it's water soluble it's no biggie if I take too much because you just pee it out . I watch what I eat and I'm 100% sure I get enough of everything, but I like the multi-vitamin as a buffer "just in case"

I'm taking prenatals rights now since we're TTC. Before that, I was taking a one a day vitamin to cover all the bases.

I haven't been able to find a vitamin with little to no potassium in them. I'm on a BCP that can affect potassium so I have to try and consume as little extra potassium as I can. And since Soymilk is high in it, I can't risk the vitamin.

If anyone knows a good brand with low potassium that I can get in Canada I'd be very grateful
