have a question...
Does high blood pressure or hypertension coincide with Gd? Last couple of times my blood pressure was taken it was high. Does this mean I might get pre-e also?

I'm having so much anxiety over this which I am sure is not good for the blood pressure either:(

Re: have a question...
If your blood pressure is high, your risk of getting pre-e is slightly higher than normal (seems normal is around 10% of women with GD) - but that doesn't mean you will get it. The odds are you won't get it.

Re: have a question...
My dr told me that yest you have a greater chance of having pre-e cuz of the GD. With my daughter that happend to me. I was fine and all of a sudden I had a high b/p. They had me go over to the hospital for monitoring. Well my plately count had dropped and I developed HELLP syndrome which can sometimes happen cuz of the pre-e. So Alli was born at 35 weeks 6 days. She weighed 6 lbs. She only had to spend about 5 days in the nicu for observations cuz she wasn't an agressive eater. She never need oxgen or a feeding tube or anything. She did great. I don't want to scare you but if your numbers are rising make sure you discuss your concerns with your dr.

Re: have a question...
Having GD will also caused hypertension too. So anyone experiencing this should be careful enough.
