Coming out of hiding...
Okay, so I have been lurking (or you could say stalking) this board for quite some time. I wanted a homebirth with my daughter but was only 18 and not with her father and everyone was way against it. Now I am back with her father and we are talking about maybe having another at some point. When we do I really want a homebirth, and I think with my constant bombardment of information he is starting to come around. Or at least he has gone from "No way, Never!" to "Maybe, we will see when the time comes." Hopefully I can get him to fully come around at some point! But anyways, thought y'all might appreciate knowing who is stalking this board all the time lol...

Welcome and its always fun to lurk boards and join in :) I hope that eventually you can get him to come around. It took me some time to get my husband on board but I was very adamant, I told him while yes this was our baby, but it was my body and I was the one birthing the baby. I had a horrible experience with our first child's birth and lost comfort and trust with hospitals. He did come around, he wanted lots of information and his biggest turning point was meeting with our midwife and talking to her. Asking her all the questions he had on his mind. We walked out of the meeting and he was sold :) Definitely nervous through out the pregnancy and birth but it was because it was a different way then the first. We always spoke if anything came up and had to transfer, I would. My 1st home birth was an hbac.

Welcome to the board. My DH had the same reactions and thoughts when I approached the subject of homebirth with my second. We ended up at a birthing center instead, but then when I got pregnant with #3, I talked to him about it more, set up meetings with midwives and had him come along to ask questions. We've had two wonderful homebirths now and I'm so glad we did the research to make our choice.

Welcome again to the board! Please feel free to jump in, ask questions and lurk!
