Getting ready!
So I am 35 weeks now

Went to the midwife today, measured 35 1/2 weeks, picked up my birthing kit and paid off the rest of the bill for the birth!

I am so excited for this baby to come, it needs to stay in another 2 weeks but I bet it won't come until after christmas...

I am currently potty training my daughter since she started demanding to use the potty about a month ago so my days have been quite busy, I plan to switch to underware for her tomorrow and see how that goes. We still don't know if we will have her there for the birth or not, she is 19 months old.

Has anyone had their children under two at the birth and how did it go?

Re: Getting ready!
Yay for a belly pic! You look amazing! Glad everything is coming together. I had BE at my birth and he did great. He got in the pool with me for a little while and we blew bubbles. Obviously I was still coping pretty well at that point ;) I did have my mom and sisters there to help wit him though. Baby was born just before nap time, so he was a little grumpy, but it all worked out great as he was asleep while we got everything cleaned up. By the time he woke up, I was settled in bed :)
He handled the birth really well! He did start to cry after Conlan was born, because Conlan was crying, but once we assured him he was ok he was fine.
I'm so excited for you!! I will be thinkin of you!

How exciting!!!

My ds1 was 35mo when dd was born and he was asleep, she was born first thing in the morning and then we woke him. Dd was 28mo when ds2 was born and she had a bit of a rough time right before I hit transition, but she was lots nicer after her nap. Her and ds1 were in the room next to us when ds2 was actually born. This time ds2 is going to be 24mo and I'm really hoping it'll happen in the night again because I don't think HE will handle it well. I think it just depends on the kid.

Well it is good to hear other young children did fine, I think Mariah might just do fine (she is very tolerant). We'll just see what happens but this makes me feel better.

Re: Getting ready!
Wow, you look beautiful! THis is my first homebirth and I have a 4, almost 7 and almost 9 year old. I would like them to be with me when I give birth. They seem keen on the idea. I am hoping it happens at night and we wake this when I am ready to push. That would be ideal. Anyone else have older kids???

Re: Getting ready!
You look fantastic!!

My oldest three (11, 9, almost 5) were there at my last birth. The younger two (3 and 21 months) were in the house but not in the room. If they had expressed interest I would have had them there.
