What did or are you going to do with your placenta after birth?

I encapsulated mine. I still have some pills left in the freezer.

Re: Placenta
I'm interested in encapsulating, but don't really know how to go about it.

Re: Placenta
I dont know that I'll do much of anything? I dont plan to encapsulate mine....not sure what we'll do with it? I probably should ask my midwife what normal protocol on that is? I have some gallon baggies here that are freezer bags so at least I have something that would contain it for the time being until I could get somewhere to bury it or something?! LOL

It can be made into pills that you can take to lesson bleeding, encourage milk production and keep post partum depression and other ailments at bay.

Re: Placenta
We'll probably just toss it. I know that placenta encapsulation has huge benefits, and I am all for it for other women, but personally I am just way too squeamish. I've been a vegetarian for 16 years, so I can't even eat a hamburger, let alone my own placenta! Honestly, I have a hard time even eating eggs that are runny. More power to the rest of you, though!
