VBAC home birth 30 minutes from hospital
My hospital has said no to a vbac. I have contacted a midwife who has done countless vbacs and was previously a RN who worked in the nursery/ob/and hospice. Her daughter attended medical school but switched to become a midwife instead. So between them both there is alot of knowledge and skill.

I am hesitant because we are 30 minutes from the hospital.

My first was a vag delivery, second was c section because she was breech.

Has anyone delivered so far from a hospital? I'll take the good and bad stories.

Thank you

Re: VBAC home birth 30 minutes from hospital
I wasn't. My home birth was just 5 minutes from the hospital. However, if you're midwife is comfortable with the distance, I would be fine with it.

This time around I will be 30 minutes away, without traffic, to the hospital. I'm not worried.

ETA: Oops, sorry. I didn't state about VBAC. Mine was a VBA2C, but I had already had one VBAC at a hospital 3 years before the home birth. So it wasn't my first. That being said, I'm still not worried about it.

I don't have much input as far as experience, but I would also agree that if your midwife is ok with it, I would trust them, as long as your gut also says it's ok. I feel like even if someone is super close to a hospital, it would take time. In my situation it would have taken 5 minutes for them to get to my house, 15 minutes to arrive to the hospital, and then a few minutes for them to run you up, etc etc.. I feel like even if you're super close to a hospital, there's going to be some time to get things done; does that make any sense?
