Moving states while homeschooling?
Hi all! DH and I have a 2.5 year old and we have been seriously considering homeschooling and getting a jump on doing all the reading/researching we can to see if it's what we really want for him. One of the questions I have is what do we do if we move in the middle of a school year to a state that is more strict on homeschooling parents? We live in MO right now and from what I've read it's a pretty relaxed state. We tend to move around a lot though and in a few years we may live in a totally different state. If we move in the middle of the school year do we continue as if we still live in MO and wait for the new school year before going along with the new state's regulations? Hopefully that made sense :p

Re: Moving states while homeschooling?
welcome! its fantastic that you are doing your research ahead of time, its also really nice to see another mom with littles like mine!

Im in canada, so im not really familiar with what is required from state to state, but i would think that if you were to move states during the school year youd probably want to start complying with the new states standards right away to be on the safe side

hope you stick around!

She's right... you'd look into that state's laws and start complying with them as soon as you become a resident.

Welcome! Feel free to go ahead and jump in. You're already homeschooling whether you realize it or not. ;)
