New to justmommies:)
Hey there!
My name is Mandi, I am 17 years old and currently 5 weeks pregnant. This pregnancy was unplanned, I was on the Pill when I got pregnant(I will now tell all people who ask that even on the pill more forms of birth control are necessary). My boyfriend and I have been together for a year now, and we love each other very much. I'll be going into my senior year of high school and he'll be going into his freshman year of College(he is going close to home, still living in home thank GOD). We want to find a way to be able to keep our baby, though we will look into adoption if we have to. We have not yet told our parents for a couple reasons:
1. he wants to wait till after his grad party
2. we're not so sure HOW to tell them.

Any and all advice/stories you want to/are willing to share would be much appreciated and I would love that:)

Please and thank you and hello!:)

Hi Mandi! Congratulations & Best of luck with whichever path you & your BF choose. It's not an easy path when you're a teen but it's definitely an amazing one. I had my daughter when I was 19. The only advice I can really offer for telling your parents is to do it together & tell each set separately. :)

Hi there. :] I'm new as well.

I just want to commend you for seeming like you have your head on straight. I was 19 with my first pregnancy, and it was a lot to take in.

My parents handled the news awesomely, but my ex-boyfriend's did not (and he's five years older!). My advice is to keep calm even if their reaction is unpleasant, and let them know that you are aware of your options.

Don't hesitate to seek support if you feel you need it. <3

Re: New to justmommies:)
It's a tough situation to be pregnant in high school I'm certain! But I really think it is awesome you want to keep the baby and do you're best, and also awesome that it is a "we" and not just a you, good for Daddy! I hate it when they run off, not fair at all! Anyway, telling your parents can be hard for even older people, but once you're ready mentally, you need to just do it, it won't be easy, but it isn't going to get easier later either. Congrats on the pregnancy, and welcome to JM!

Re: New to justmommies:)
thank you.
You guys are all so sweet.
My parents now know.. my dad's been worse than my mom but all in all not total screaming or anything. They're trying to get me to do adoption..but as an adopted child.. knowing what goes along with it on the opposite end(as in not just mine as a mother, but mine as the kid) i know how hard that would be for me to do.
His parents don't know yet.
We're telling them on Sunday.
We don't want to ruin his graduation party tomorrow for anyone.
