wool upcyclers: question
I'm just starting to get into wool. I've hit up Salvation Army and bought a few 100% wool sweaters. I started cutting up and sewing one sweater without felting it, but it was pretty thin and stretchy, so then I felted it, and I liked it a lot better. I haven't used the cover much yet and I haven't felted or sewed any of the other sweaters, some of which are thicker to start with, so I've still got some experimenting and learning to do.

Anyway, I bought this one sweater, but it's not 100% wool. It's 70% lambswool, 20% angora rabbit hair, and 10% nylon. I couldn't pass it up for $2.50, in a woman's plus size, shell and sweater 2-piece set. It was just too much super-soft, mostly wool fabric! Anything I should know about using it? To felt or not to felt? Absorbancy-wise? Anything different about lanolizing it?

Re: wool upcyclers: question
It may not felt up as much as the others but will still work great. Wash and lanolize the same. I've successfully made longies out of 50% wool.

Re: wool upcyclers: question
Ooooo that sounds lovely!!! Angora is so soft....

I think the main issue with <100% wool is that it starts holding lanolin less well at some point. But 70% lambswool is pretty good, it should be fine. I have a Chickadee and Me upcycled cover that is 80% lambswool 20% nylon and I can't tell it's any different from my other wool.
