Hello ladies,

I just found out today that I am carrying identical twins and possibly a third little guy! We had to have help in order to have these little guys and new that there was a risk of multiples. We will be going next week to see another specialist to see about the development of our third baby. The two identical ones had heartbeats, but the third one did not. I am only about 6 weeks so it is still early and the third one might catch up. Really...anything could happen at this point.

I just wanted to come here and meet some of you as I might be frequenting a lot more! I think that I have been in every single emotion today......and right now, I'll admit it, I am starting to freak out.

I look forward to getting to know you!

Re: Hello!
Thanks so much for the warm welcome ladies. I do appreciate it. I am still in somewhat of a freak out mode right now. I am in search of a great OB with experience in this in the larger nearby city. We live pretty much in the sticks and the doctors here just don't have the experience that I think that I will need. If something happens and they have to be in a NICU, I would like to be in the same hospital with them, not waiting to be discharged. Sooooo....the search is on!

We were going to wait until Christmas to announce the news, but I am thinking I will start showing before then. About how soon did some of you show? And when did you share the great news?

Re: Hello!
Congrats and :welcome:! I started showing almost right away, so I think telling before Christmas is a good idea! :D

Re: Hello!
Congrats and welcome! I think freak out mode is pretty normal, especially for triplets. I only have 2, but didn't really start showing until after my 1st trimester. I did wear some maternity pants toward the end because my hips had changed and those pants were much more comfortable than my regular ones.

I just looked up old belly shots for someone else and still had photobucket open. Here are a couple of shots so you can see how fast I showed.

Re: Hello!
I didn't start showing until... ya know, I don't even know when really. 15-18 weeks or so, but I started out heavy. So, even though I knew I was showing and hubby could tell, I'm sure I just looked large (or larger than usual anyway  ) for a while. I know that by 25 weeks people could tell I was pregnant, and by 35 weeks they couldn't hide the stares. :giggle:

We shared that we were pregnant right away, but we have never had to deal with loss to be wary of that. :shrugs: I didn't know it was twins until I was 15 weeks though and am not sure if that would have made a difference for me sharing or not. (Probably not, at least not with immediate family, but may have made a difference as to how soon we announced it to the wide world. LOL)

I hope you take belly pics so we can see you grow!   I love that!!!

Re: Hello!
Thanks again ladies for the advice and input! I did take a pic last week at 6 weeks of course this was before I knew how many were in there! I, also, received The Belly Book as a gift and plan to document there for the kiddos.

So, my next question, will this "oh crap" feeling that I have leave soon??? The shock has worn off and I have been on an emotional roller coaster ever since. I am eating, but I don't have an appetite even though my stomach is growling. I know it is nerves, but I cannot shake them. Ahhhhhh!!!!! Any advice???

Thanks again!!!

Re: Hello!
Hey and welcome :) I didn't start showing until 15-16 weeks either .. and I even had people at work say around 24 weeks "oh you finally look pregnant", but I was pretty chubby to begin with, so that definitely affected it.

Yes, the "oh crap" feeling will go away, but DH and I would look at each other for the first few months (and even now and then until the very end) and just say "Twins! :O" ... so yes, the feeling resurfaces here and there even as it begins to sink in. You can do it though! ... and yes, even if you don't have an appetite, eat because you need to be. No need to eat a TON at this point, but make sure you are eating at least as much as you were before you were pregnant, and add a little more.

Re: Hello!
Congrats! I am 15 weeks right now, and i would bet a stranger just thinks i'm fat. but it took me a LONG time to show with my first pregnancy too - like 20-24 weeks. I think it depends on how skinny you were to begin with and how long your torso is.

As far as the "oh crap" feeling...we still get it every now and then, but it was like that with our first child too. even after we had him, we would still look at eachother and just go "i can't believe this is OUR child!" so if this is your first pregnancy, i'm sure it's some of that too, esp since you had difficulties becoming pregnant. (so did we)

Just one question for you....I'm assuming you know it's identicals because they share a placenta, do they share a sac or are they in their own sacs? Ours are sharing a placenta but each have thier own sacs, but I'm getting monthly u/s to monitor thier growth (i would assume shared sacs would be maybe even more monitoring) One thing I would keep in mind when searching for a new OB is what kind of monitoring he will be doing to be sure there is no TTTS, proper growth, etc, especially towards the end.

Re: Hello!
I didn't start showing until after my first trimester. We told our family and close friends at 7 weeks when we found out we were having twins. We told everyone else at around 14 weeks.
