Leg Hair Growth in 7 Year Old + Puberty
I was surprised to see quite dark and long hair on my daughter's legs. She's showered herself for a while so I haven't seen her legs as much. I tried looking up puberty but there is very little talk about leg hair and it just casually mentions it as a puberty sign.

I'm wondering if 7 is normal for leg hair growth and if it might mean she will go through puberty early or not. I read that periods start about 2 years after breast growth and that breast growth usually happens before pubic hair but not always, but no mention of when leg hair is in the equation.

IMO puberty is more on an individual basis so the stages vary. my daughter is 10 and has been going through the stages of puberty since 7. first it started with body odor then pubic hair then breast puffiness then underarm hair and now breast. she has also had some acne off and on. she does have hairy legs but still light in color.

does your daughter have dark hair? my daughter is a blonde. I noticed a dark haired girl on her cheerleading squad has dark hair on her legs.

Yes she has dark hair, medium brown. As a toddler she had this hairy patch on one of her legs. It was so noticeable and bugged her so we shaved it a few times when it was bad, during the summer anyways. The rest of her leg hair was very light. Now most of her leg hair is dark just like the little patch we've shaved a few times and it's much longer.

7 is a pretty normal age for that to happen.
