Cervical incompetence
Long story short, there's a chance I'll experience cervical incompetence. I don't know anything yet but it was brought up today at my appointment. Does anyone know if there are any issues with this regarding natural birth? I know it puts me at risk for pre-term labor but is there anything I don't know about that I should?

Re: Cervical incompetence
I had it. For me it meant it's hit or miss that I'll make it to term. I dilate without labor. So it's all about when my water breaks. (With my daughter, I was 4cm at 32 weeks and stayed that way until 35 weeks, with my youngest son, I don't know what I was but I was 7cm when my water broke at 37 weeks, and that was before I ever had a contraction). For me it has also meant short, easy labors and fast dilation, but it's harder to make it to term. I hope you don't have a severe case.

Re: Cervical incompetence
I have no personal experience. I imagine that as long as baby is head down you could still have your natural child birth. Just maybe not at home or birth center depending on when you deliver. I know a girl who had it and made it to 34 weeks but her baby hadnt turned yet.

Re: Cervical incompetence
Well I can't say I have a problem with fast labor. My doctor is already taking it very seriously which is great. Hopefully I won't have much to worry about, but I can handle bed rest if it means keeping LO in there a few weeks longer.
