Cycles getting shorter?
I am getting worried about my cycles. Since coming off BCP in Oct (exclude my 54 day cycle) they are getting shorter 29 to now this last one was 25 days, 11 day LP. I am on B6 for the LP, and the 11 days is better than what I started with at 9 days. I am curious if any of you ladies have dealt with the shortening of your cycle could it be random? I'm not sure what to do, it seems I'm ovulating sooner and sooner. Maybe it's nothing, but I am getting nervous. I got my most positive OPK on CD12 last cycle, that's 2-3 days early for me. :(

I am overweight, so I am wondering if my body is ovulating on paper, but not really releasing an egg? Or I worry about premenopause, I'm 25 but I started my period at 9 years old.

What would be the best way to address this? I am due for my yearly pap, should I address it then? Should I ask if they can monitor a cycle & do blood work to see what's up? IDK if they will since they told me that they require a $1k deposit if they need to address any infertility related issues. This isn't exclusively a fertility thing, I am worried what's causing this.

Re: Cycles getting shorter?
Bri have them test you for insulin resistance. Since you are over weight, you may not process your insulin and gluclose correctly, but yet still aren't diabetic. I have a few friends who dealt with that and used Meformin to get some of their weight off and were pregnant in no time (they abstained while losing the weight, one did 6m one did 9 the other did a year).

*hugs* other than that I have no suggestions.

Re: Cycles getting shorter?
I think ovulating earlier in the cycle is a good thing, sort of...I mean if you get much shorter than the 25 then that'd be overwhelming, but as long as it stays at least that long that means more chances to conceive...I've HEARD and don't have any proof to back this up cuz I can't remember where I read it or heard it, that the most fertile ladies have a 28 day cycle and I think an obvious reason for that is they ovulate more in a year than somebody with say a 40 day cycle and another obvious reason is they need not know anything about fertile days or anything if they have a "regular" cycle.

Re: Cycles getting shorter?
ditto to Christen. As long as your LP is long enough and there's a build up of CM before O, then it's a good thing to have shorter cycles when TTC. It means you O more in any given year :) You can still ask your doctor, though, and see if there's anything she'd want to check.

Re: Cycles getting shorter?
Shorter cycles are no reason to worry about your fertility. What counts is that you're having healthy ovulation with an adequate LP. This new length might just be your new normal, but while on BCP you wouldn't have noticed things changing because it makes you have a phony cycle.
