Ovulation pain
I wouldn't be able to NOT know when I am ovulating. For 2-3 days around every ovulation I have had since Marsi I get horrible pain! I don't know how I will TTC later on this year if this pain continues. After ovulation, it goes right away. Is there anything you ladies suggest? Should I try to go to the doctor around ovulation time next cycle? (I should ovulate tomorrow or tonight so I think it is too late to see one this cycle) I can't even think of DTD right now it is so painful.

Re: Ovulation pain
This may or may not help, but I've noticed that the first few times I ovulate after having a baby - it's VERY painful. But then the more cycles I have, the less painful it is. So there's a chance this could improve with a bit of time.

The other thing you could try is this. A few days after you start noticing your fertile mucus...as you near ovulation, you could start taking a mild pain killer. Just the minimum dose, every 6 hours, for those few days. If there's some pain relief on board before the pain starts, it might not be as bad.

Re: Ovulation pain
I have a rice bag that I use when I'm having particularly painful af cramps. I haven't used it for O pain because mine has either been mild enough to not need it, but I would assume the moist heat could help some of that too. I hope it gets better with time!

Re: Ovulation pain
I'd get it on my left side if I because I have a lot of scar tissue from my surgeries, and I ditto what Shawna said about using a mild pain reliever a few days before O. Aleve always worked well for me. Thanks for the heads up that this is common in the first few PP cycles. I had no idea!

Re: Ovulation pain
I didn't know about the painful ovulation after baby. It seems to be full force for me. I ovulated overnight thank goodness so I am just barely achy today. I asked DH what it meant for us to TTC later on and he said to just take a painkiller and it would work! It is better than the "well we better not TTC then" that I expected.

I will see how this next one is. I don't like to take medicines while Marsi is still getting most of her nutrition from breast milk. But, it is better than being miserable for 3 days and having to take care of her. Thanks!!
