Heavy Period or Miscarriage?
Advice from someone who has been through this before. DH and I DTD more than once when I ovulated but he pulled out. However, I am on day 3 of my period but my temperature has not dropped like its supposed to. It seems much heavier than normal - I'm passing lots of clots (more than I usually do) and can feel it "flowing" often. How can you tell this sort of thing? My period was right on time, but it usually starts in the AM and this time it didn't start until the late afternoon. Something just seems off, but I know I could just be paranoid. Thoughts?

Re: Heavy Period or Miscarriage?
It's possible, but you might never know for sure. If it is an early miscarriage, hcg may not have risen enough to be detectable with a urine test. If you're really curious about it, a blood test in the next day or two could probably answer this question.

Re: Heavy Period or Miscarriage?
I think if it were me, I would just assume it was a regular period either way.

Re: Heavy Period or Miscarriage?
It doesn't seem to be lasting any longer than normal, all things considered I'm sure I am just worried over nothing. Last cycle my temps and CM were practically textbook so I was just thrown off by this. I've been under a lot of stress lately and I think that made a difference.

I'm glad to hear you did not miscarry. If it was miscarriage, you could have bleed to death or develop systemic infection. Be healthy always

I'm with Christen, I'd just assume it's a rough period.

Re: Heavy Period or Miscarriage?
I would also assume it was a really bad period, at least knowing what I do now. I have been in a similar situation where I was passing huge clots that I had never, ever had before. I went in to get checked out, and it was just a bad period.
