Do you ever feel guilt over suffering from PPD?

Yes. :( That's the one huge thing I'm dealing with now .. I see all these other moms who have children the same age as mine handle everything so smoothly and effortlessly and it makes me feel like such a horrible mother and wife ..... Bleh! I hate it!

Re: Guilt
I ALWAYS feel guilty especially of having PPD.

Sometimes, I think people just think I'm lazy...ahem, MIL.

That's horrible! I'm really sorry she thinks that! :(

I think people around my neighborhood think I'm rude or stuck up because sometimes I'm just so down and overwhelmed that all I want to do is get the kids to and from the car .. no chit chatting about the weather or what we're having for dinner .... :(

Re: Guilt
I feel guilty that PPD affects how I run my household. It's hard to keep things tidy, keep up on laundry, spend quality time with my children, and have dinner ready when you're depressed! And then I feel guilty that I'm not being the best wife/mother that I can be.

Re: Guilt
It's not a fun cycle, is it? The guilt kinda keeps me in the rut.

Re: Guilt
I've definitely had guilt over PPD! Before I was laid off from my job, I was completely guilty that I was going to work instead of staying with Dalton. Then when I lost my job, it was that I wasn't making money. Now I'm doing better, though. I've found that decluttering my house really helps to keep it clean easier, to stay on top of things better, and to keep myself from being too down on myself.
