New, expecting and on meds
Hi all! My name is Jess and I am 30 weeks pregnant. I've been on Zoloft for 7 weeks now and I'm just maybe starting to see some changes. I started developing Antepartum depression when I was 15 weeks along - but have never been truely happy about my pregnancy. This will be my third child and over this past year our family has been through alot. My son had his second cleft palate repair, and my daughter was hospitalized for two weeks and thought to have Lymphoma which later turned out to be Kawasaki Disease. Yes, my kids are ok now - but I think these events scared me so badly that when I found out I was pregnant a few months later I couldn't enjoy the news and haven't been able to.

Since being on meds I notice I'm able to tolerate thins alittle better - however, I have struggled with insomnia since the meds - I get an average 4 hrs of sleep at night, and my anxiety is worse. My OB last week talked about prescribing something additional for anxiety but I'm
Nervous about taking meds already. Can anyone relate? Have any advice??

Re: New, expecting and on meds
4 hours of sleep at night when 30 weeks along is kind of "normal". I know at the ned of my pregnancy I was getting hardly any sleep and I'm still not getting much now that the baby is here.

I have anxiety anyway and am on Klonopin for my anxiety. Klonopin shouldn't be taken toward the end of the pregnancy, though, as it can interfere with APGAR scores for the baby. Maybe try meditation, breathing techniques and acupressure/puncture?
