Need some advice!!!! x-posted
I also posted this in my ddc....

Here's the thing...

My daughter just turned 3. She's almost fully potty trained. She will go all day at day care without an accident. Then she comes home and when she has to do #2, she takes a pull up out of the drawer where they're kept, and poops in that and then will come tell me she pooped.

ugh. so frustrating.

And then today, it's like she's too lazy to use the toilet. I"ll tell her to use the potty, she'll say she doesn't have to go, and then 5/10 minutes later she comes out and is half naked because she's peed herself.

I just had a little freak out because now I have to wash all her blankets because she was sitting on her bed, which we JUST made, when it happened.

The way I look at it is that she's 3 and should be potty trained by now. ahhhhhhhhhhh.

ya.. so any advice?

The "diaper fairy" had to come to our house and take all the pullups to little girls who needed them. After that we timed when Jamis has to poop. She goes about 20 minuites after she eats so we take her to the potty then and give her a book to read. It takes a few weeks and several accidents but she will get it. Jamie will be 3 on the 30 and she got it.

Hellow JennLynn_. I thought I would jump on here and share a couple of comments with you. I totally understand your frustration! Potty training can be a challenge as well as an adventure.

My little guy did not show signs of being interested in potty training until he was three and a half. Believe me -- it wasn't because I had not tried. He mastered the potty part almost immediately, but the bm thing was another story. I always knew when he would go behind the chair in our family room -- what he was up to. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!

My pediatrician was a big help and suggested that I get rid of all the diapers and pull-ups in the house. My son learned quickly that he didn't want to mess in his "big boy" pants. Perhaps you could make a habit with your daughter when she gets home from day care for her to sit on the toilet and have a story read to her. I have come across some information from Focus on the Family on potty training on their website. Once you get to their website, all you have to do is go down to the bottom of the screen on the home page and click on "FAQs." Once you are on that page, you type "potty training" in the search box. Some insightful answers will pop up. I know that this info has been beneficial to me along with many other moms.

Relax and hang in there! Your daughter will eventually get it! ;) I will be thinking and praying for you!
