New Here
I wanted to stop by and introduce myself. My name is Holly and DH is Mike and we have been ttc for almost a year. We have one loss in february and then one again about 3 weeks ago. I am super scared to get pregnant again and dont know if i can keep going thru this. I have an RE appointment( my first) in a little less than 2 weeks. Is there anything special i should be asking? I hope he is able to help. Some days i worry i will never be able to hold a child of my own and its sad and scary.

Also, has anyone ever heard of taking baby asprin to help with reducing the risk of m/c? Ive read that before and was wondering if anyones doctors have them taking baby/low dose asprin?

Re: New Here
A sad, but warm welcome to board. My RE told me to stop taking the baby aspirin because if something goes wrong (i.e. I get in an accident or miscarry) you can't reverse the effects easily. Instead, once I get pregnant, I'll be on Heparin. The reason for my being on it is because I have a clotting disorder.

I would ask about testing. Ask if they'll look for a clotting disorders. Ask about karyotyping. Maybe an HSG? There is a thread in our stickies about the tests that can be done. Another common cause of RPL is an undiagnosed thyroid issue so you should have that checked as well.

For me, I have had everything above and then some done (except for the HSG). The only thing found was the clotting disorder, which my RE doesn't feel caused my losses.

I know the fear of never holding a biological child of your own. DH and I have lost four babies in 3 years time. It's a hard and terrifying journey but am glad you've found us. I hope that you find as much comfort in this board as I have. If there is anything I can do for you, just let me know. Even if you just want someone to talk, I'm here. Also, please feel free to add your family to our dates sticky so that we can add you to our calendar and keep you in mind on those hard days.

Re: New Here
A sad, but warm welcome. I am Meagan and DH is Nathan. We have had 3 losses and are currently seeing the RE.

My first apt with the RE she went over my pregnancy history and explained to me possible reasons and then did some blood work.

A past teacher of mine explain to me; she was diagnosed with MTHFR and her Dr had her take a baby aspirin a day, everyday, pregnant or not. I don't know too much about any of it, mainly because a lot of people have been told several different things.

Before you go see the RE jot down some questions or concerns you have so when you go in there you don't forget anything.

Re: New Here
First of all, I'm so sorry to have to welcome you to our board but I'm glad you found us.

I'll be the odd man out and say that I am a firm believer in baby asprin. Of course everyone has different issues, but for me I'm fully convinced that is why I was able to carry my DD to 34 weeks. I had 2 early losses and a 16 week still birth and was thrown every test short of genetic testing. My HSG, blood clotting bloodwork, thyroid, etc...everything came back completely normal. When I got pregnant with my DD Grace I was put on progesterone supplements for the first 12 weeks and baby asprin, as a last ditch effort, for the duration of my pregnancy. It's the only thing that ever worked for me.

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to PM me (I think I speak for all of us when I say you can probably contact anyone). Also many of us have posted our loss stories in the sticky above. Best of luck to you sweetie.

Re: New Here
I just read some of the stories in the share your story section, and it did make me feel somewhat hopeful that I will hold a child of my own someday. Thank you all for sharing your story.

Re: New Here
Hey Holly! :)

Nice to see a familiar face, although I'm so sorry for your losses.
I also take baby aspirin, per my doctor & a friend.
I've heard many success stories with women using it.
Good luck & we are here for you!
