Exotic Pets

If you could have ANY exotic pet(s) what would you have?

Have you actually had any exotic pets before? How was that?

Re: Exotic Pets
I haven't had any exotic pets.
I'd have a cheetah!

A wolf.
A white tiger.

Re: Exotic Pets
My brother once had a baby snake and my ex partner had an iguana for a while.

If I could have ANY exotic pet, I would love to have a giraffe! Both my kids love them. Imagine the land you'd need to keep giraffes though!

Re: Exotic Pets
We had turtles and a lizard growing up. I also had a 7 legged huntsman as a teenager that I found who was looking pretty poorly, so I put him in a tank and fed him some bugs and bulked him back up again.

At the moment we are happy just having our cat.

I would love a lyrebird, they're so beautiful and make the most incredible sounds, but it would be nothing short of cruel to keep one, especially as I live in an area where they are part of the general wildlife.

Re: Exotic Pets
Maybe some kind of exotic fish? I love birds but I'd rather see them at my bird feeder than in a cage. I think I'd rather have the opportunity to go into the wild to see exotic animals than to keep them as pets.

Re: Exotic Pets
No exotic pets. I would love some but we are a military family and we move so much. We do have a hawk that hangs near our apartment, does he count?

Re: Exotic Pets
But of course! It sounds like he may have adopted you anyway. ;) We count our garden birds!

Re: Exotic Pets
I had a snail, a turtle, and a hamster when I was young. My parents also had two birds for awhile. When I was a child(5 I think?) I nursed a sick bird back to health then released him once he was ready.

My husband had a pig, a goat, a duck, and a goose. Lol. And no he didn't live on a farm.

We might get some chickens...

As far as picking any kind of animal to keep, I'd rather just live out in the forest/mountains and let the animals come and go that live there naturally.
