Thundering Tuesday
Thunderstorms: Love 'em or hate 'em?

When was the last big thunderstorm in your area?

Would you ever consider doing a Storm Chaser tour for tornadoes?

Re: Thundering Tuesday
I like them if I'm safe and warm somewhere. If I have to be outside in them like taking care of the horses or something, then no way! Florida has more lightning strikes than anywhere else in the US, and we have more people hit by lightning here than in all the other states combined!

We had a small thunderstorm on Jan. 2nd. Haven't had a great big one in awhile.

I'm not a big tornado fan. Used to live in Memphis and we drove through the F-4 devastation right after it hit nearby Jackson, TN and there was just nothing at all pleasant about that. We get tornadoes here, too, although they're usually small. They're really frightening.

Re: Thundering Tuesday
I have a love/hate relationship with thunderstorms. If I am warm, dry and cozy in my house, I love them.

A friend that I went to elementary and high school with was actually killed by lightening. So being outdoors really frightens me. He was actually killed on a beautiful sunny day while playing football on the beach. There was a severe storm 4 miles out at sea (that no one really knew about). Apparently lightening can travel that far. This is were the hate of thunderstorms comes in for me.

As for the last storm, that was just this past Saturday. It is really crazy to have 50 degree weather, pouring rain, thunder and lighting in January when you live in New England. Go figure.

I could never be a storm chaser. Mother nature can be just too scary for me.
