<_<

So, last night we used my car when we went out to dinner (we have two vehicles, mine being the smaller one and better with gas).. Matt didn't pull up his car enough when he came home from work, so in order to get my car in the driveway he'd have to pull his up. Didn't feel like it, so we just parked on the street.. which we've done many times.

We go out this morning to go to BJ's and my ENTIRE driver's mirror was RIPPED off the car. The ENTIRE mirror and panel. It was crushed all over the street, and many feet up. The actual mirror was in one place (under the car?!), the "thing" that holds the mirror several feet from that, the panel that holds the whole mirror was WAY out in the road..

Thank GOD our whole car wasn't hit. They must have been going fast for the mirror and the parts to be so far from the car.. let alone SO smashed up.

Not only do i HATE paying expenses that are NOT my fault (and Lord knows how much it is?), but on a weekend when shops are closed? Oh, and don't forget it's labor day weekend!!! So, nothing is even open on MONDAY. UGH!

We have another car to use, that's not the point. The point is.. we have to pay for this. And my even bigger issue is that people DO this and don't STOP. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I totally broke a mirror off someones car and left. I would feel horrible! If it were in the middle of the night, I would leave my phone # on a note on their car or something. How can people just run INTO a car and drive away (while probably laughing, for all I know).

Thanks for listening to me, though.. that makes me feel somewhat better.... kinda

I SO know what you mean.... some people are just immature and karma will come back later. ;)

Make.A.Wish August 30th, 2008 11:38 AM

Some people just don't care hun, I'm learning that hard lesson now... I'm so sorry. :(

Ugh- I'm so sorry- that just plain stinks. I hope it doesn't cost too much & hopefully the shop can squeeze you in asap!

snsgirl336 August 30th, 2008 07:18 PM

Oh man! That stinks! I hate when people do something then don't take responsibility for it! I'm sorry it happened and I hope it won't be too costly to fix!

I'm sorry that happened. People are so rude these days! That happened to my ex one time, thankfully the guy who hit his car actually knocked at my door and apologized for it and gave him his info. I hope you're able to get it fixed soon!

Sasix August 30th, 2008 08:18 PM

That's awful! Unfortunately I've had 2 of my vehicles hit & run and it is so frustrating. I hope it won't cost you too much to fix it.

That is crazy! I do have to say two months after my car was paid off (this was years ago) someone hit it when it was parked outside my Mom's house. The same guy plowed into my neighbors huge truck. Come to find out the guy was drunk and highly on drugs they chased him down. I would make sure nothing else happened in your neighborhood. My car (at the time was a Honda CRX) was totaled! Doesn't that figure! Hope your weekend gets better........like I said check around and make sure that same person didn't damage any other cars around! :dothug:

That sucks Julia! Did you still report it to the police?

LaLaRose3 August 30th, 2008 08:36 PM

Oh, NO! :( That stinks! And how inconsiderate and RUDE of whoever did this! :angry2:

I am really sorry hon!

That is HORRIBLE! I would never be able to just hit someones car and drive off like nothing happened. I hope that who ever hit your car has a hard time with feelings of guilt. I doubt they do, but I hope they do. I'm sorry this happened hun...some people are just inconsiderate and disrespectful jerks. I hope it doesn't cost too much to get it fixed. Can you claim it through insurance?
