If I have not started, and there is a chance that I am pregnant, should I refuse an X-ray?? My brother-in-law is the dentist, and my sister works up front. They both know we are trying.

I read somewhere that you are not supposed to get X-rays at the dentist if you are pregnant? (It is just a cleaning).

I refused when I was prego with my daughter, it's the first trimester that you REALLY don't want to get one. a lot of dentists will tell you it's okay, but it wasn't ok with me. If I were you I would refuse.

I didn't get one when I was TTC DD, I also didn't get one when I was pregnant. They just had me sign something saying I refused it. When I was pregnant they didn't want me to get one.

Ask what type it is. If it's the one that you stand in front of and it takes pics of each side of your face, refuse. if it's a new one that is a camera that takes pics, inside your mouth, it's fine.

Personally, I would use caution. If you don't need the x-ray at this moment, maybe put it off for peace of mind? When I was really sick with a horrible cold back over new years, I refused to take any meds, even tylenol just in case. I'm really nervous about early miscarriage so it helps put my mind at ease knowing I treated myself as pregnant whether I was or not. I might be really cautious, but it helps keep the obsessive worrying down for me.

Since it is just a routine cleaning I would go ahead and refuse it.... I did last time we were TTC.

Unless there is serious concern where you need one, I would refuse as well
