Human remains were found 15 miles from my home over the weekend and the police are trying to identify the person. I went to our local news channel website to follow up on the story and it had posted the Ohio Missing Adults website link below the story. I went to the link and was really alarmed by how many missing adults there are in Ohio alone that we never hear about on the news. :o Then I started looking at the missing children website. :(

You know, when I used to teach school, during 10 years of teaching elementary school not one administrator ever reminded us to go on the missing children website to check to see if we had seen any of those kids. I started thinking about that case recently where that boy had been abducted and was missing for 5 years and was finally found like 20 miles away and reunited with his family...he hadn't gone to school but he had been playing with other kids. If those kids had been asked in school to look at the pictures of missing kids in their state, they may have recognized him well before he had been missing for 5 years. Maybe schools should think about this....????

Just a thought. If you get a chance, check out your Missing Persons website by state. Alarming, really....

So very, very sad and scary! :( I always think about the poor families and can't imagine the pain they live with everyday not knowing what has happened to their loved ones. It is so cruel and unfair. -_-

I whole heartedly agree about posting pictures of missing children where other children can see them. Children unknowingly notice things quicker then adults. I wish we could go back to milk carton days.
