Laura Carlson, a regular contributor to JustMommies, is also a copywriter in health and life sciences. Laura has been a writer for more than 20 years. She has written for healthcare organizations ranging from Kaiser Permanente to UCLA Health Systems to Anthem (formerly WellPoint) to Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP). 

During this time, Laura and her husband have raised four children, including twins! She also hosted many children and teens from around the world, ranging from South Korea to Finland. Laura is in regular touch with people who make mommies' lives the best they can possibly be – including MDs, doulas, researchers, teachers, and (last but not least) families. 

Most recently, Laura has been the producer and co-director of a documentary by Alpha Films, entitled "Beyond Barriers." The film will be out in late 2019 or early 2020. It shows how people on opposite sides of the border came together – despite economic, healthcare, and economic obstacles – to create a center of wellness and hope.
