Crock Pot Chicken & Dumplings

Remember the chicken and dumplings grandma used to make? Her dumplings were so good, but who has time to make dumplings from scratch? Try this crock pot recipe for chicken and dumplings. It’s so easy!

Ingredients:

4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into strips
2 tablespoons butter
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1 onion, chopped
2 stalks of celery, chopped
1 cup of frozen carrots
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
2 (10 ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough
Salt and pepper to taste.

Directions:

Place chicken, butter, onion, celery, carrots, soup, and poultry seasoning into crockpot. Add enough water to cover chicken and vegetables.

Cover and cook in the crockpot for 7-8 hours on low.

About a half hour before serving, salt and pepper stew to taste. Then add dumplings.

Turn crock pot to high. Tear biscuits into pieces and add to crockpot. Lift the lid off of your crockpot to vent. Then cook for 30 minutes or until the center of the dumplings are no longer doughy.
