April Hernandez-Castillo is a Brand New Mommy!

Freedom Writers star April Hernandez-Castillo is a new mom!  The actress gave birth via c-section due to complications from preeclampsia on Sunday, September 30.

Summer Rose Castillo arrived at 1:15pm and weighed in at 7 lbs., 5 oz. and 19 in. long.  According to People, “Mom is doing well, recovering from surgery and resting with her new daughter.”

Summer Rose is the first child for April and her husband Jose Castillo.
