The Young and the Restless' leading lady, Michelle Stafford, is expecting a baby girl through a surrogate this December.
Stafford, 43, tells People.com she has spent the last several years struggling through fertility treatments: "After a three-year journey through hell, I’m elated, ecstatic and feel ultimately lucky to be able to announce I’m expecting my own child via surrogate in December."
The red-headed actress, who plays Phyllis Summers on the show, tells People that going through the long process of in vitro, artificial insemination and several surgeries was "the hardest thing I've ever done in my life."
The single, soon-to-be mom says she is still looking for that special partner, "Dating men and telling them I’m expecting in December is a little different. I know I just need to find someone who wants the same things as I do."
