Back to School? Get These Shoes!

By JustMommies

HealthDay released some important tips for parents purchasing their children new shoes for the upcoming school year!

According to the American Podiatric Medical Association, it is important to ...

1. Measure your growing children's feet! Don't assume they are the same size as last year or even last summer!

2. Avoid hand-me-down shoes. Shoes are one item that aren't the greatest recyclables! Why? Newer shoes offer better support and do not contain germs and potential funguses that older shoes could be carrying around.

3. If your children's feet are slightly different sizes - opt for the larger size versus squeezing their poor feet into a smaller shoe.

4. Buy shoes that are comfortable from the very beginning. Shoes should never have to be broken in.
